The Medical Workforce Unit is responsible for the recruitment, appointment, payroll and management of the junior medical staff (senior registrars to interns) within ISLHD.  The MWU is committed to delivering high quality, client-focused and professional services that support the organisation in the delivery of its core function, which is the provision of high quality, safe and efficient health services that are responsive to the needs of patients, carers and the community The MWU provides expertise to medical staff and their managers regarding policy, recruitment, appointment, credentialing, rostering, education, wellbeing and employment records and associated services. Contribute to the strategic planning, development, implementation, management and improvement of District programs and services which operate to support the safety and quality of specialist care to communities therefore effecting health outcomes. The Manager, JMO Education and Wellbeing will lead and manage operations of ISLHD's Medical Education Unit to facilitate delivery of quality, cost effective services in medical education and training to achieve business and service objectives. The position holder will lead the LHD Locums unit and ensure locum medical staff are appointed in accordance with policy and managed appropriately Further, the Manager, JMO Education and Wellbeing will lead and implement strategic directions for junior medical staff wellbeing across ISLHD in conjunction with the District Director Medical Workforce and the site Directors of Medical Services.
