The Role 

Here at Justice Health NSW, the role of the Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinator (HM3) supports the development and coordination of workforce initiatives across five key areas: Recruitment, Retention, Career Progression and Professional Development, Community Engagement and Cultural Responsiveness, as we strive to deliver excellence in patient-centred healthcare across community, inpatient, and custodial settings. To do this, we seek to: 

  • Incorporate our CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment with our patients, families and carers;
  • Strengthen the cultural capability of Justice Health NSW by working with Aboriginal people in contact with the criminal justice system;
  • Enhance a culturally safe workplace for all staff within Justice Health NSW;
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Aboriginal workforce strategy and other initiatives related to career and professional development, cultural awareness, education and training and;
  • Support and assist Aboriginal Strategy and Culture to develop and implement the Aboriginal Health and operations plan for Justice Health NSW.

 

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Management, Human Resources, Business, Community Development, Public Health or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
