What you'll be doing

In this hands-on research opportunity, you’ll play a key part in driving scientific excellence while supporting the growth of a high-performing research team.

In this role you will be:

  • Developing, managing and delivering independent and collaborative research projects.

  • Preparing research grants, ethics applications and scientific publications.

  • Presenting findings at conferences, seminars and professional forums.

  • Training, supervising and mentoring students and technical staff.

  • Managing laboratory operations, equipment, workflows and compliance.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor in Science or related field.

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications with a research focus within a scientific field.

  2. Prior laboratory experience in Molecular Genetics such as, PCR, DNA extraction, and in assays such as ELISA, cell culture, tissue culture, in vitro and in vivo assays, GCMS and handling/processing blood samples.

  3. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills.

  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and work with variety of stakeholders.

  5. Experience and demonstrated computer skills, using programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

  6. Experience in the use of statistical programs and statistical analysis.

  7. Broad knowledge of Quality System requirements and “Best Practice” philosophies.

  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
