Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking a motivated and collaborative Human Resources Business Partner to join our dynamic Workforce team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large and diverse health organisation, supporting managers and staff to deliver high-quality care to our communities.

About the role

In this key advisory role, you will provide expert HR advice, coaching and consultancy services to leaders across the District. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening workforce capability, supporting employee relations matters, and driving contemporary HR solutions that enhance organisational performance.

Working closely with managers and senior stakeholders, you will:

  • Provide high-quality advice across a broad range of HR and industrial relations matters

  • Support managers through coaching and mentoring to build capability and confidence

  • Assist with job evaluation, workforce planning and HR reporting

  • Contribute to the management of complex employee relations cases, including representation where required

  • Build strong, trusted relationships across a large and evolving organisation

 

About you

You are a proactive HR professional who thrives in a complex environment and enjoys partnering with leaders to deliver practical, people-focused solutions. You bring:

  • Qualifications and/or experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field

  • Sound knowledge of employee and industrial relations frameworks

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver effective HR outcomes

  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong report writing and computer literacy skills, including data analysis and reporting

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risk and escalate appropriately

  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the District as required
