Remuneration: $37.48 – $59.89 per hour
Hours Per Week: 32

WSLHD Health Promotion is seeking an enthusiastic Health Promotion Officer to join our School Years portfolio. In this exciting role, you’ll be part of team fostering partnerships with over 220 local primary schools and relevant stakeholders to deliver health promotion initiatives, including the NSW Health Live Life Well @ School program.

Cumberland Hospital is part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), one of the largest and most diverse health districts in NSW. WSLHD is committed to improving population health outcomes, reducing health inequities and supporting healthy communities from early life through adulthood.

What you'll be doing 
In this role, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of School Years health promotion programs aimed at reducing childhood overweight and obesity across Western Sydney.

·       Develop, implement and evaluate project plans to meet program KPIs

·       Support schools to adopt and deliver School Years strategies and key health messages

·       Collect, manage and report program data to support monitoring and continuous improvement

·       Build strong partnerships with schools, community organisations and key stakeholders

·       Facilitate training, workshops and program activities, including occasional after-hours delivery

Essential Criteria:

·       License: Driver’s license 

·       Qualification: Bachelor or higher degree in any of the following – Population Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, Education, or other relevant degree


Selection Criteria: 

1.     Relevant tertiary qualifications at graduate level or above in: population health, health promotion, public health or other health related areas.

2.     Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with government and non-government organisations and agencies to facilitate collaborative action. Previous experience with education settings is desirable.

3.     Experience in health promotion project management including project planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of outcomes.

4.     Demonstrated effective organisational skills, problem solving skills and Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate online platforms.

5.     Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to conduct public presentations and facilitate groups both face to face and online).

6.     Understanding of issues that impact on service delivery in relation to social disadvantage, Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

7.     Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team and ability to work with minimal supervision.

8.     Current driver’s license valid within Australia.
