What you'll be doing
The primary responsibility of this Health Promotion Officer position is to support the NSW Healthy Children Initiative priority of combating childhood overweight and obesity in the early years (0–5 years). The role works in partnership with early childhood services, families and key stakeholders to plan, deliver and evaluate population‑based health promotion programs that support healthy eating and physical activity.

This role offers flexible working conditions and the opportunity to contribute to diverse projects that improve community health and wellbeing. You'll be part of a supportive team culture that fosters collaboration, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development.


People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. 


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in health promotion, public health, education, community development, health sciences, sociology or other related discipline.
  2. Proven project management capabilities including planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion initiatives at a population level.
  3. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships across diverse sectors and communities.
  4. Highly developed communication skills, including digital literacy, interpersonal, written and verbal abilities with demonstrated competence in negotiation, presentation delivery and report.
  5. Current NSW Driver's License.
