Join a small, dedicated team delivering essential harm minimisation services across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. This is a hands-on, community-focused role where your work directly supports safer health outcomes for individuals and communities.

The Harm Minimisation Team is committed to reducing risks associated with substance use through practical support, education, and access to resources. With a strong person-centred approach, the team promotes safety, dignity, and respect in everything they do.

 

About the Role

As the Storeperson / Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Harm Minimisation Program by managing stock, equipment, and deliveries across multiple sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing inventory, stock control, and warehouse operations

  • Coordinating deliveries across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley

  • Restocking, maintaining, and repairing vending machines

  • Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Ensuring safe transport, handling, and storage of equipment

  • Maintaining accurate inventory systems and stock levels

  • Adhering to workplace health and safety requirements

  • Upholding NSW Health values and professional standards

This role requires a high level of autonomy, organisation, and reliability, along with a strong commitment to safety and service delivery

 

About You

You are practical, organised, and take pride in keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes. You’re equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team and bring a strong sense of accountability to your work.

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational skills and reliability

  • Experience or confidence in stock control, warehousing, or logistics

  • Attention to detail across inventory, handling, and delivery processes

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

  • A commitment to safe manual handling and driving practices

  • Clear and professional communication skills

  • A customer-focused mindset when working with colleagues and stakeholders

  • A strong alignment with NSW Health values and Code of Conduct

  • A valid NSW driver’s licence
