Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is a major tertiary and quaternary referral hospital, nationally and internationally renowned as a centre of excellence in clinical care, research and education.
As part of Sydney Local Health District, RPA provides a broad and highly complex range of health services including at the state level and plays a critical role in the NSW health system. About the role
As General Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, working closely with clinical leaders, senior executives, staff, consumers and system partners to deliver safe, high-quality and sustainable health services.
You will lead a complex portfolio in an environment of significant scale and public importance, balancing immediate operational priorities with longer-term transformation and service development.
Your leadership will help create the conditions for clinical excellence, workforce capability and wellbeing, innovation and continuous improvement, while ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and accountability for performance.
This is a role for a leader who can move confidently between strategy and delivery; build trust across diverse stakeholders; navigate complexity; look after and bring our exceptional workforce and partners with them through change.

About you
You are an accomplished senior executive with the leadership capability, judgement and credibility to operate successfully in a complex health environment.
You will bring
- Executive leadership experience in a large, complex health service, hospital or comparable organisation, with a demonstrated ability to lead at scale.
- A strong track record of delivering results, translating strategy into action while maintaining a clear focus on quality, safety, performance and patient outcomes.
- Exceptional relationship and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with clinicians, executives, staff, patients & consumers, government and external organisations.
- Change and transformation leadership capability, including the ability to lead through complexity, build organisational capability and create momentum for improvement.
- A values-led leadership style, with a genuine commitment to inclusion, workforce engagement and wellbeing, clinical excellence and patient-centred care.
You will be comfortable operating in an environment where no two days are the same, where competing priorities require sound judgement, and where leadership is measured not only by what is delivered, but by how it is delivered.
The opportunity
This is an ongoing, full-time Band 2 Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role.
An attractive remuneration package within the range of $307,591 to $346,133 per annum (SOORT 2026), with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
