Rehab and Aged Care Services (RACS)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position(s) in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located in the Department of Rehab and Aged Care Services at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
Successful applicants will be highly motivated and skilled geriatricians.
Applicants must have Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration at time of applying.
Essential Requirements for Appointment
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Geriatrics Medicine or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997.
Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)
2. Sound clinical knowledge in geriatrics medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
3. Training and/or experience in Stroke medicine including thrombolysis and referral for endovascular clot retrieval.
4. Training and/or experience in a range of subacute geriatric medicine care types.
5. Training and/or experience in capacity assessment and complex discharge planning — including reports for NCAT applications.
Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Western Sydney Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to the District for clinical matters.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.

1. Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty.
2. Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty.
3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
