About the Opportunity 
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced professional who is deeply committed to supporting individuals affected by sexual violence. As a Level 4 Sexual Assault Worker, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering trauma-informed, client-centred care.

In this senior team position, your leadership will be key to providing high-quality crisis intervention and comprehensive follow-up psychosocial support.

You will be part of a dedicated and highly skilled team that champions social justice, embraces cultural inclusivity and promotes safe and respectful relationships.

 

What You'll be Doing
The position is primarily responsible for the management and leadership of a team of sexual assault intake workers with a Violence and Neglect Framework. The team leader is responsible for the review of systems and practices, ensuring the delivery of high quality clinical intake service.  This will be achieved through the use of Trauma Informed Practices, focusing on optimal health outcomes that are consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The team leader will participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, consultation, quality activities and other relevant departmental administrative duties.

Staying Safe in Community Directorate staff work within a trauma informed framework with an understanding of and responsiveness to the impact of trauma on children, young people and their families. The position will ensure that services are provided in a manner that is welcoming, safe and appropriate for all, including individuals, families and communities who have experienced trauma. By adopting a trauma-informed and family sensitive approach, health services can play a key part in identifying and meeting the needs of children, young people, individuals, families and communities who are vulnerable.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  2. Bachelor degree in Health related field with an emphasis on human behaviour, psychosocial development and counselling. 
  3. Proven ability to manage a team of workers and lead. Work independently, collaboratively as part of a team and build and maintain partnerships with local agencies with local agencies with high level communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated extensive experience and skill, providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and adults affected by sexual assault as well as experience in working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds
  5. Evidence providing case management and administrative supervision and ability to develop and manage monthly rosters for the daytime rosters.
  6. Respond to and manage medicolegal requests.
  7. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
