Where you'll be working

The Strategy, Innovation and Digital Health Team encompasses strategic planning functions, analytics, technology, change, and project management resources to ensure strategic allocation of resources to key organisational priorities and initiatives. Built around three key pillars, it drives and enables the delivery of key strategic and operational initiatives by developing innovative solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery. The directorate oversees the development of organisation strategies and plans, while also monitoring the implementation of such plans. This department handles SESLHD’s most pressing organisational problems and explores opportunities such as technology in Health, change and innovation and environmental sustainability practices.  

The Role
 
Provide expert advice and services on all facets of environmental sustainability to staff at all levels, including executives, clinical, and non-clinical teams. The role has a specific focus on the provision of a range of  project and change support to all clinical and non-clinical staff to achieve the business and service objectives 


The Environmental Sustainability Program Manager is responsible for the development, monitoring and reporting of a SESLHD sustainability implementation plan, in line with overall strategic priorities of SESLHD and NSW Health. 


The position holder will work in partnership with the executive, clinical teams, managers and relevant external organisations to facilitate the collaborative development and implementation of sustainability initiatives that will encompass the environmental, social, economic and governance aspects of sustainability for SESLHD. 


Reporting to the Head of Change and Innovation, the Environmental Sustainability Program Manager will coordinate and lead sustainability networks and communities of practice and provide support, advice and leadership in scaling successful sustainability initiatives across the District. The position holder will play a key role in supporting the organisation to achieve its net zero and annual KPI targets. 
Please note that the role has a District remit and as such may be located at any location across the District.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management, project management, environmental sustainability or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of the health care industry and / or environmental sustainability, with an ability to apply that knowledge to achieve high standards of quality, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of health services.
  3. Demonstrated project management skills, and experience in managing a number of strategic projects concurrently, in a high volume and autonomous work environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams, and an ability to motivate, lead and use initiative as well as the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  5. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective, meaningful and supportive working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  6. Demonstrated well-developed understanding of change management and experience in leading change management and business process improvement.
