Kurri Kurri District Hospital is a key facility within the Hunter New England Local Health District, providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services to the local community. Located in the heart of Kurri Kurri, the hospital plays an important role in delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare in a regional setting.

The Medical Unit delivers acute medical care with a strong focus on patient-centred practice and multidisciplinary collaboration. About the Role

In this role, you will provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care within the Medical Unit, working in partnership with patients, families and carers to achieve agreed care goals and outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure care is delivered safely, effectively and in line with best practice.

You will be supported by an experienced Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator, who provide leadership, guidance and mentorship. A structured orientation is provided, with access to ongoing education and professional development to support your clinical practice and career progression.

You are a motivated and patient-focused clinician who values teamwork and high-quality care. You are organised, communicate effectively and contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key skills and attributes include:

  • Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA
  • Strong time management and task prioritisation skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills or the willingness to develop leadership capability
  • A collaborative and respectful approach to care delivery

While foundational skills are essential, ongoing learning and development will be supported in the role.
