About the role:
The Drug and Alcohol Support Worker (DASW) works within the Community Mental Health/ Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) team to completely deliver Drug and Alcohol and social care, to people experiencing substance use issues.
Your responsibilities will include.
- Work alongside other clinicians in providing a recovery focused, person centred Drug and Alcohol services for people experiencing substance use issues, their families and carers.
- Scope of practice of DASW will differ and is determined by the Team Manager, based on individual support workers relevant knowledge, skills and experience.
- Undertake a range of duties to support other clinicians and consumer care
- Observe and monitor the wellbeing of consumers when undertaking wellbeing activities, ensuring that any physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly escalated and documented as appropriate.
- Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (until 30 June 2026)
Position Classification: Health Education Officer (Grad/Non Grad)
Remuneration: $64,985.00 - $ 108,229.00 per annum (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualification in Health and/or Social Care or working towards same
- Experience working in a care giving role in a hospital or in a community setting
- Good time management skills
- Passion for helping others
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel.
