The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.  
 
What you’ll be doing: 
 
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey. 
 
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Drug & Alcohol After Hours Services Team located at the Nepean campus. This Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade (CNC2) provides a specialised consultation and liaison role for patients of the Drug and Alcohol service. The successful candidate will support current consultation services throughout the other LHD facilities, stakeholders and partner organisations. There is a focus on delivering evidence based clinical interventions within best practice models of care to achieve good clinical outcomes for patients. The position will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.
