A rare opportunity is available to join the team in Nepean Cardiology in the role of a Clinical Nurse Consultant. This is a part time assignment to cover for maternity leave.

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and direction to the staff of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health Network. The successful incumbent will utilise advanced clinical skills to develop the service provided to cardiac patients. Key duties also includes undertaking nursing research within the specialty.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  2. Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in cardiology and postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, review and redevelopment of policy, procedures and education programmes relevant to cardiology
  4. Experience in setting strategic direction for service delivery, demonstrating leadership skills and ability to develop the service utilising an ethical framework for decision making related to policy, procedure and practice
  5. Ability to work in an inter-disciplinary, inter-dependant team context and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Current Driver's Licence
