Our District’s Oral Health (Dental) services are provided to eligible patients at the following locations: Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and the Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic. The team offers public dental services including diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Officer to join our team at Lithgow Hospital. In this role, you will deliver high-quality general oral health care and education to eligible patients across the district, while managing cases of greater than usual complexity. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient care, including examination, treatment planning, referrals, and coordination with other clinicians. A strong commitment to infection control, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication with patients and staff is essential. You will also contribute to oral health promotion and support the broader dental team in delivering efficient and respectful care.

What you will bring to the role
- Registered as a Dentist, with the AHPRA
- Demonstrated sound clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public
- A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventive / population health approach to patient care
- A demonstrated ability to work within a large team
- A demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Experience in the management of patients with chronic medical conditions and complex dental needs
