About Us – eHealth NSW

At eHealth NSW, we’re leading the digital transformation of Australia’s largest health system. As NSW Health’s digital centre of excellence, we design, build and support world-class ICT solutions that improve patient care across the state.

eHealth is implementing a NSW Health wide Cyber Security Uplift program. This multi-year strategic initiative is designed to enhance cyber resilience across the state's health system. We are working with Local Health Districts, Pillars, and Agencies to improve how we detect and respond to risks and to make sure everyone follows consistent security standards. By investing in modern technologies, governance frameworks, and workforce capability, NSW Health is proactively addressing the evolving cyber threat landscape to safeguard critical health services and patient data.

About the Opportunity

As a Cyber Security Incident Officer at eHealth NSW, you will help make a real difference in healthcare through detecting, managing and responding to cyber security incidents within a large, complex service environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a team of security incident experts; the officer will ensure cyber incidents are identified and appropriately managed in a timely fashion.

In this role, you will:

  • Proactively identify cyber security risks and coordinate effective responses to incidents to minimise operational and business impact.
  • Analyse cyber events and incidents, producing clear reporting on trends, risks and the current security posture.
  • Lead and continuously improve cyber security operations to ensure timely, efficient and well-coordinated incident response.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, testing and system configuration updates, maintaining tools for cyber event monitoring and investigation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients and vendors in high-pressure environments, applying sound operational policies and staying current with emerging cyber threats.

About You

  • Proven cyber incident detection and response experience in a large, complex organisation, and/or relevant ICT or cyber security qualifications with applied, internationally recognised certifications.
  • Strong hands-on experience implementing and operating controls aligned to the ACSC Essential Eight framework.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise with cyber security tools and techniques including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, forensics, log and network traffic analysis, IOCs, scripting and vulnerability management.
  • Proven capability managing complex cyber incidents end-to-end, including coordination of resources, risk management, and delivery of clear reporting and outcomes.
  • Highly developed analytical, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate under pressure and deliver practical, business-focused security outcomes.
