About the Role:
We’re looking for a capable and reliable Courier / Handyperson to join our Engineering and Building Services team at Manning Base Hospital.
This is a varied, hands-on role focused on general maintenance, repair, and gardening tasks across hospital facilities. You’ll also step in as a Courier when required, helping transport essential items safely and punctually across the district.
You’ll be joining a well-organised team with a reputation for getting things done, where no two days are the same. Whether it’s fixing a door, tidying the grounds, or delivering equipment, you’ll be helping keep the hospital running smoothly for staff and patients alike.
In this role, you'll:
- Provide general maintenance and handyperson services across hospital facilities
- Support the upkeep of grounds and gardens
- Safely operate hospital vehicles to perform Courier duties when required
- Assist in planned, reactive and statutory maintenance tasks
- Follow work schedules while remaining flexible to meet the needs of the service
About You:
You’re a trade-savvy all-rounder who knows how to manage your time and get the job done with minimal supervision. You’re safety-conscious, dependable and happy to pitch in wherever needed - whether that’s fixing something on site or covering a Courier run.
You may be looking for stability after years in contracting or simply a change of pace with solid conditions and reliable hours.
You must have:
- Demonstrated experience in general handyperson or trade-related work
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and ability to operate hospital vehicles
- Physical and mental stamina to undertake both maintenance and Courier responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and communication skills
