About The Role:

Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting healthcare teams? Ward F2 at John Hunter Hospital is seeking a Clinical Support Officer to join our vibrant and dedicated team.

As the first point of contact on the ward, this frontline role is integral to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll provide essential administrative support to our Nurses, Doctors, Allied Health professionals, Patient Support Officers, and work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering and directing ward phone enquiries
  • Supporting patient movements including admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Preparing and managing patient charts and clinical documentation
  • Ordering forms, stationery, and ward supplies
  • Assisting with recruitment processes and onboarding of new staff
  • Managing rosters using Health Roster and preparing salary and wage documentation
  • Organising staff education updates and compliance records
  • Coordinating the NUM's diary and scheduling meetings

Providing general administrative support as required

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Understand and uphold patient and staff confidentiality at all times
  • Manage time efficiently and meet deadlines in a busy clinical environment
  • Be open to taking direction and following established procedures
  • Be required to complete online training modules via My Health Learning

Receive on-the-job training and support from an experienced Clinical Support Officer
