Where you'll be working
Perinatal, Child and Youth Mental Health Services (PCYMHS) is a specialist service within Western Sydney Local Health District dedicated to helping young people thrive beyond the impact of mental illness. Based at Jeffrey House, Parramatta Community Health Centre, the Prevention, Early Intervention and Recovery Service (PEIRS) provides specialist community-based assessment, therapy and recovery support for adolescents and young adults aged 12–24 years experiencing moderate to severe and persistent mental illness.
You'll join a highly skilled and supportive team committed to delivering person-centred, recovery-oriented care that improves outcomes for young people, families and carers across Western Sydney.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Psychologist within PEIRS, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based interventions for adolescents and young adults with complex and enduring mental health presentations. Working from a trauma-informed, attachment-focused and recovery-oriented framework, you will play a key role in supporting young people, their families and broader support networks.
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulation and diagnostic reviews for young people with complex mental health needs
Develop and deliver individually tailored treatment plans using evidence-based approaches including CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, EMDR and family-based interventions
Provide expert consultation, advocacy and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team and across partner agencies
Deliver care coordination, clinical documentation, outcome measurement and reporting to support high-quality, person-centred care
Contribute to supervision, service development, quality improvement, research and professional education initiatives

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
Registration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and eligibility to progress to endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology.
Selection Criteria:
Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA with eligibility to progress to endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
Extensive experience in working therapeutically with adolescents, young adults and families who present with significant emotional, behavioural, and/or mental health difficulties.
Demonstrated high level skills and experience with the evidence-based assessment, early intervention and treatment of adolescents/young adults and their families presenting with complex mental health issues utilising a developmental framework.
Demonstrated experience and high-level skills in the use of a range of standardised psychometric tools administered as a part of a comprehensive assessment of clients referred to the service.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for adolescents, young adults and families
Current unrestricted & valid NSW drivers’ licence and willing to use for work purposes
