Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join the Renal Supportive Care service within the Western Renal Service, supporting patients through complex and life-impacting renal conditions.

In this role, you will provide psychological assessment and evidence-based intervention to individuals and groups in an outpatient setting with occasional inpatient consultation. You will also lead and participate in quality improvement and service development initiatives, and support research aligned with the Western Renal Service.

Working closely with a skilled multi‑disciplinary team, you will also provide education, advice and consultation to patients and other clinicians.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
  2. Theoretical knowledge of palliative care and renal conditions
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide psychological assessment and deliver evidence- based psychological treatment
  4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  5. Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes, identify and manage problems in relation to group dynamics and to promote and support team-based solutions
  6. Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Current driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD
