What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver high-quality psychological services to adolescents and young adults with cancer, as well as their families and carers. You will work closely with the AYA multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. Your key responsibilities will be to:
Conduct psychological assessments and interventions for AYA patients
Collaborate with oncology and palliative care teams across inpatient and outpatient settings
Provide education and support to families, carers, and health professionals
Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to policy development and service innovation

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology masters or doctorate.
Registration: Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligibility for endorsement to practice in the area of Clinical Psychology.
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
Demonstrated skills in working with patients and carers in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing assessment, management planning and delivery of psychological services.
Demonstrated experience in child and adolescent mental health including experience in cognitive-behavioural therapy and other relevant therapeutic techniques (which may include group therapy, ACT, mindfulness techniques, family therapy, among others).
Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience including the ability to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner with patients and staff.
Capacity and maturity to provide psychological support and education on psychosocial issues for staff.
Computer literacy, and adequate quality improvement / research skills
