What you'll be doing
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing the clinical capabilities of nursing staff within the Close Observation Unit & MedA. You’ll design and deliver targeted education programs, mentor new and existing staff, and ensure high standards of patient-focused care.
Deliver ward-based education and inservice programs tailored to clinical needs
Act as a preceptor and mentor, supporting staff through orientation and skill development
Conduct competency assessments and monitor clinical objectives
Coordinate professional development and mandatory training initiatives
Champion continuous improvement through evidence-based education

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Current and valid registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and postgraduate qualification in Critical Care & Cardiology and clinical teaching qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery
Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
