About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
The successful candidate will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the clinic, including participant referrals and screening, scheduling, resource management, treatment monitoring, consent, and clinical and research documentation. The role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and pharmacy to ensure safe patient care, medication management, and compliance with clinical protocols, SLHD policies, and audit requirements. You will also coordinate multiple projects and clinical trials, manage competing priorities, and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care and the broader vision of the team.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
