About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology's Forensic Medicine service is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our specialised multidisciplinary team. We're looking for someone who demonstrates a positive mindset, fosters strong professional relationships and actively contributes to a culture of collaboration, respect and continuous improvement.
This is a unique opportunity to apply advanced clinical nursing expertise within a forensic environment that supports coronial investigations, natural cause of death pathways, non-coronial examinations, and complex stakeholder engagement across health, legal and regulatory systems.
As a CNC, you will provide clinical consultation, leadership, education, care coordination and service improvement activities while working collaboratively with forensic pathologists, career medical officers, social workers, forensic mortuary technicians, case coordinators, radiographers and external stakeholders across NSW.

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (General Registration) with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, including a minimum three years full time equivalent experience in a trauma or cardiac/critical care specialty area.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, health professionals and clients through high level interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including advanced level computer skills and effective teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
