SESLHD - Clinical Governance Officer

The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it. 

SESLHD Clinical Governance Unit (CGU) works with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and improve clinical standards delivered across the District, and to build the the capacity of SESLHD clinicians to respond to patient & carer needs within a supportive team culture. 
  
The Quality and Safety Officer fills an important, collaborative role within the CGU to achieve this aim with particular responsibility for maintaining the day to day safety systems as described in SESLHD's Clinical Governance Framework, with as strong focus on data driven analysis.

Selection Criteria

  1. Clinical experience and knowledge with strong understanding of health systems and processes.
  2. Demonstrated experience in clinical governance activities, such as quality assurance, incident management and/or quality improvement.
  3. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  4. Ability to analyse and synthesise data and use it to drive improvement.
  5. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, teamwork and influencing skills enabling liaison and negotiation with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated effective time management, organising and prioritising skills.
  7. Advanced written communication skills, including report writing, development of presentations, education/information sessions and formal submissions.
  8. Demonstrated ability to use electronic healthcare and administrative programs and systems.
