Cumberland Hospital is a leading mental health facility with a strong reputation for specialist and forensic services. You will be part of a progressive Drug Health team working in close partnership with the Adult Drug Court and MERIT programs, supporting clients with substance use and co occurring mental health needs in a highly collaborative and purpose driven environment.

What you'll be doing
You will provide specialist psychological services to clients involved in court diversion programs, delivering high quality assessment, intervention and court liaison within a complex and dynamic setting.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop targeted treatment plans
• Deliver evidence based psychological treatment in individual and group settings
• Prepare detailed court reports and liaise with judicial and legal stakeholders
• Provide case management, referrals and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Respond to risk, crisis and complex behavioural presentations with sound clinical judgement

Essential Criteria
Registration: AHPRA Registered Psychologist with Forensic or Clinical Endorsement otherwise current eligibility for endorsement pathway
Selection Criteria
Masters degree in clinical psychology or forensic psychology and full registration with AHPRA. Endorsement as clinical or forensic psychologist preferable otherwise current eligibility for endorsement pathway.
Experience administering comprehensive assessments and designing targeted treatment plans for substance use issues and/or co-morbid mental health problems.
Demonstrated skills in providing evidence based psychological treatment for substance use issues and/or co-morbid mental health problems.
Ability to work in court based programs with clients who have engaged in offending behavior.
Proven high quality written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience or exposure to crisis and risk situations and challenging client behaviors.
An understanding of the the array of psychosocial issues that contribute to substance use problems and capacity to take a holistic approach to treatment.
Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
