The Role

The Clinical Dietitian Level 1/2 at Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred nutrition care in line with the Dietitians Association of Australia Code of Ethics and NSW Health guidelines. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating dietetic interventions to support optimal health outcomes, while communicating effectively and sensitively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. 

Key duties include providing expert nutrition advice, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and prioritising workload to meet care objectives within required timeframes. The dietitian also contributes to education for patients, carers, and health professionals, supports students on placement, and ensures practice remains current and aligned with safety, quality, and risk management frameworks.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
 

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award
  2. Recent and relevant experience in a comparable acute hospital setting
  3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery
  4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  5. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters commensurate with years of experience
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and the application of evidence based practice
  7. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
