An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist Speech Pathologist to join our Child Youth and Family Health Team. We provide children with communication and feeding delays and disorders with comprehensive assessments (often with other multidisciplinary members of the Child, Youth and Family Health Team) and ongoing intervention in a variety of models of care. This position will work across community health centres in Ryde and the lower north shore, however may be required to work at other community health centres on the Northern Beaches or the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai sectors in the future. This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of extension in a full time or part-time capacity after the contract concludes in early 2027.

What you'll be doing
The Speech Pathologist (SP) provides assessment and intervention for consumers appropriate to their service. The main purpose of this position is to provide accurate assessment, intervention and therapy for consumers with communication and swallowing disorders within their allocated caseload population.   
 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria

 

  1. Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  2. Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of Speech Pathology service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
  3. Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
