About the Opportunity

Join the Emergency Department team and play an important role in supporting timely, safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Working under the direction and supervision of senior clinical staff, you will provide practical and technical support to patients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role you will

• Undertake a range of delegated technical tasks including venepuncture, cannulation, vital signs, ECGs, respiratory swabs, urine specimen collection and plaster application.
• Support clinicians with patient care, procedures and the preparation, sourcing and restocking of equipment and clinical supplies.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, including recording activities in the Electronic Medical Record (eMR) and assisting with clinical documentation as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, maintaining privacy, confidentiality and a strong focus on patient-centred care.
• Prioritise and manage competing tasks in a busy and changing Emergency Department environment, escalating issues appropriately and working collaboratively to support timely patient care.

About You

You will be a motivated and adaptable team member who is confident working in a busy Emergency Department and committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. Whether you have experience in a health-related environment or are looking to build your clinical skills, we are looking for someone who has

• Experience working in a health-related field, knowledge of medical terminology, or is currently studying a registered health profession.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while following clinical direction and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and remain responsive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Venepuncture and cannulation competency, or a willingness to undertake training and develop these and other technical skills required for the role.
