You will help keep our hospital safe, clean, and welcoming for patients and staff. In this role, you will support patients with their care, comfort, and dignity, working closely with our friendly team.


About the Opportunity

The Patient Support Assistant works within a multi-disciplinary team environment and is predominately focused on providing and maintaining a cleaning environment through the provision of a diverse range of services for clinical and non-clinical areas.

This position plays a key role in supporting the patient journey by assisting with the patient care. In this role you will:

  • Provide a broad range of services across both clinical and non-clinical areas, helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Support clinical teams with a variety of patient care tasks, including assisting with mobility, bathing, and personal hygiene, while always upholding patient comfort, dignity, and respect.
  • Safely transport patients to appointments and procedures, assist with discharges, and respond promptly and effectively during emergencies and evacuations.
  • Undertake duties related to mortuary services with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Use technology effectively to manage administrative tasks and support the smooth day-to-day operations of the team.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and follow directions from supervisors.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centred approach in all interactions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely, including patient handling and transport.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and emergency situations.
  • Desired experience working in a healthcare or aged care setting.
