We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health who can combine clinical expertise, compassionate leadership, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced, evidence-based mental health interventions in a fast-paced Emergency Department, using expert clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients experiencing acute mental health crises.

  • Provide expert clinical leadership by serving as a role model for professional excellence, offering mentorship, clinical supervision, and practical guidance to help staff grow their skills and confidence in mental health care delivery.

  • Champion continuous improvement by leading and participating in quality initiatives, pursuing ongoing professional development, and integrating emerging evidence and innovations into practice to continually improve patient outcomes and experiences

  • Advocate for patients, ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are respected, and their needs are central to care decisions. You will work to remove barriers to care, facilitate clear communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team, and promote a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion.

  • Balance autonomy with collaboration, exercising sound independent judgment while actively contributing to a resilient, adaptable, and high-functioning multidisciplinary team.

About You

  • Current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with relevant post-registration qualifications and a minimum of three years’ experience in the clinical area related to your post-graduate qualification, or equivalent qualifications and experience as deemed appropriate by the public hospital or health organisation

  • Advanced clinical expertise in mental health nursing.
