About the role
Are you a skilled Radiographer looking for flexible, meaningful work close to home? We’re seeking a capable, confident professional who is local to the area to join our small but busy hospital team on a casual basis, supporting our on-call hours.
In this solo radiographer role, you’ll work closely with Emergency Department staff, performing general X-rays and urgent or trauma imaging using modern digital radiography equipment. Every day is different - from supporting routine cases to responding quickly when the community needs you most.
You’ll enjoy working independently while still being supported by our permanent staff member, the Calvary Mater Hospital, and the Hunter New England Radiology Network. In addition, on-site familiarisation sessions will ensure you’re comfortable with the site, workflows, and systems.
This role suits someone who is:
- Local to the Nelson Bay area
- Confident in their clinical skills and decision-making
- Able to work autonomously, problem-solve, and escalate appropriately
- Passionate about contributing to their local hospital and community

Requirements:
- Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent before commencement of role.
- Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), eligibility to hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may include on-call responsibilities and the ability to be able to be on site within 45 minutes
- Willingness to participate in the rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time.
