Essential to meet the Career Medical Officer role requirements is full unconditional General Registration with AHPRA and Australian Emergency Medicine experience at CMO level. Unlimited and unconditional permanent working rights in Australia
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and close-knit Emergency Department where your clinical skills directly contribute to the wellbeing of the Lake Macquarie community. You’ll work alongside a diverse team of medical professionals including Staff Specialists, CMOs, SRMOs, Junior doctors, nurses, and allied health staff who are united by a shared commitment to delivering high-quality emergency care.

What You’ll Do:
• Deliver direct emergency care and coordinate clinical management in collaboration with Emergency Physicians and Admitting Medical Officers.
• Lead and support junior doctors and medical students, fostering a culture of learning and mentorship.
• Participate in night shifts and after-hours rosters, ensuring 24/7 care for patients.
•Coordinate resuscitation efforts for critically ill adults and children, with support from senior clinicians and retrieval services.
• Contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment that values education, research, and work/life balance.
What We’re Looking For:
• Full General Registration with AHPRA
• Minimum three years’ recent experience in Emergency Medicine
• Ability to take on in-charge responsibilities in an urban district ED
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia
