An excellent opportunity is available for a Cardiac Technologist to take on a temporary full time assignment in Nepean Hospital. The Cadiac Technologist will utilise demonstrated skills and knowledge in performing key duties in cardiac investigation services including: echocardiograms, holter monitoring, ECGs, device checks, and cardiac catheter lab procedures.

The successful incumbent will provide safe, efficient and high‑quality cardiac services to clients across the district, ensuring best‑practice models of care are consistently applied. In this position, you will uphold and promote professional standards through ethical practice and adherence to the policies and standards of the district's Cardiac Services.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Grade1: Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer; OR Grade2: Post Graduate Degree in Sonography or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer and ASAR accreditation as a qualified sonographer level/ EPS Physiologist.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support a harmonious work environment.
  3. Proven ability to interpret findings and make decisions about additional imaging as required during the course of each test as well as to recognise and communicate significant findings as required.
  4. Understanding and experience with various echocardiographic machines/ EPS Systems, their operation and day to day running and maintenance.
  5. Demonstrated ability to provide services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner.
