Where you'll be working:
The successful candidate will join our dedicated team at Waratah BreastScreen, delivering screening services every Saturday. We are a proud group of health professionals who strongly believe in the BreastScreen Australia program and its vital role in improving health outcomes for women. Our mission is to save lives through the early detection of breast cancer.

About the role:
In this role, you will work as part of our highly skilled and supportive team, performing screening mammography to deliver this vital service to women in our community. The position is available one day per week on Saturdays, offering a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to breast cancer detection and women’s health.

We welcome applications from Level 2 and Level 3 Radiographers, as well as Mammography Practitioners. The successful candidate will be supported with a comprehensive orientation program, guidance from the Designated Radiographer, and access to in-house training delivered by our dedicated Tutors. For those wishing to further their career, the opportunity to attain a Certificate in Mammographic Practice and pursue additional professional development will be encouraged and supported.

You will be well supported in this role, with orientation provided by the Designated Radiographer and the wider team. Ongoing training and opportunities for further education will be encouraged, and our dedicated Tutors deliver in-house programs to ensure you receive continuous guidance and support.

About you:
We are seeking empathetic, client-focused professionals who thrive in a collaborative team environment and are committed to delivering high-quality imaging. As a female Radiographer or Mammography Practitioner, you will bring enthusiasm and dedication to supporting the BreastScreen program and the women of the Hunter New England region.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled mammographer with the ability to work independently, as Saturday screening is provided by a small, close-knit team. Above all, we are looking for someone who values excellence in care and is passionate about making a difference through early detection.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be female – exemption claimed under section 31 (2)(h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
  • Relevant qualifications in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent/Graduate Diploma of Mammography/ Certificate of Mammographic Practice (CMP) or willingness to complete.
  • Registered as a Medical Radiation Practitioner – Diagnostic Radiographer (General or Mammography registration) with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia where required.
  • Hold a current EPA IA 14M/ IA 14 radiation licence
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Available to work away on mobile screening vans for up to 6 days at a time.
