About the role:
As a Breast Care Nurse at BreastScreen Waratah, you will play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to individuals undergoing assessment for breast conditions, including cancer. You will provide expert clinical support, education, and information to clients, their families, and carers throughout their diagnostic journey.
In this rewarding position, you will:
- Deliver high standards of care in breast diagnostic procedures, ensuring sensitivity, accuracy, and excellence at every step.
- Provide coordinated care, including timely referrals to a wide range of hospital and community-based support services and resources.
- Collaborate closely within a small, dedicated nursing team and contribute meaningfully to the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Work Monday to Friday, across an 8-hour rotating roster between 6:45am and 5:00pm, allowing for work-life balance and consistency.
- Be supported by a highly experienced team, including the Nursing Team Leader, fellow Breast Care Nurses, and the expert BreastScreen MDT.
- Receive a comprehensive and structured orientation to ensure you feel confident and empowered in your new role.

BreastScreen NSW is dedicated to reducing the impact of breast cancer by promoting early detection - significantly increasing treatment options and improving survival outcomes.
Administered by the State Coordination Unit within the Cancer Institute NSW, the program is delivered through nine specialised Screening and Assessment Services located within Local Health Districts across the state.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
- Hold current registration as a registered nurse with the nursing and Midwifery board of Australia through AHPRA.
