Associate Citrix Engineer (Health Manager Level 2)

Are you passionate about virtualisation technologies and ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Associate Citrix Engineer to join our Digital Workspace team.

 

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering and supporting our Citrix virtual app and desktop services. You'll bring your technical expertise to manage platform services, improve system performance, enhance automation, and ensure the security and reliability of our Citrix environment—including Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Citrix ADC, and Citrix ADM.

 

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Supporting and maintaining Citrix-based services across NSW Health
  • Contributing to service improvements, automation, and security measures
  • Collaborating on the planning and implementation of complex system architectures
  • Providing technical support and guidance aligned with our technology roadmaps

You’ll work closely with other eHealth technology teams, technical capability managers, delivery managers, and stakeholders across the NSW Health network to ensure smooth operation and innovation in our virtual desktop services.

 

In this role you will:

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Citrix ADC, and ADM platforms.
  • Assist in delivering projects and system changes across virtual platforms, Active Directory, and related ICT systems.
  • Collaborate on roadmap execution, assessing risks and ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.
  • Provide technical support for incidents, changes, monitoring, and system health to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Conduct engineering investigations to support platform migrations and technology transformations.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement to enhance system security, stability, and efficiency.

 

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience in the build and operations across Citrix platforms and associated virtual app-desktop services within complex environments.
  • Experience with modern ICT Delivery and Operational practices such as DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to establish collaborative and influential relationships with stakeholders, customers and colleagues.
  • Technical writing capabilities.
  • A self-driven attitude toward learning new skills and adopting upcoming technologies as requirements evolve.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to balance and juggle competing demands.

 

This role is internally referred to as Associate Engineer – Desktop Virtualization.
