Position Title: Associate Director, Finance Strategy

Employment type: Temporary Full Time (up to May 2027)

Position Grade: Crown Clerk grade 11/12

Remuneration: $149,739- $173,174 plus superannuation

Hours per week: 35 hours

About this role

Associate Director – Finance Strategy is responsible for a range of activities in supporting the Director Finance Strategy and the CFO for provides expert financial advice and information to support the development of the NSW Health Budget. This includes the development of New Policy Proposals, financial and economic evaluation of business cases and cabinet submissions, and the development and/or revision of complex costings and funding methodologies.

What you'll be doing

The Associate Director, Finance Strategy leads the financial analysis and strategic advice that underpin the NSW Health Budget, including the development of New Policy Proposals, complex costings, and plays a key role in implementing and maintaining financial policies and strategic initiatives across NSW Health.

  • Lead NSW Health’s budget development and State Budget engagement, including preparing and validating financial costings, coordinating inputs across business areas, and ensuring compliance with NSW Treasury processes.
  • Provide high quality, evidence based financial advice through qualitative and quantitative analysis, financial modelling, and clear communication to both financial and non financial stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Represent Finance Strategy across internal forums; build strong, collaborative stakeholder relationships; drive improvements in financial practices, policies and organisational processes; and support robust fiscal management outcomes.
  • Lead and develop a small high performing team, manage key projects for the CFO, and prepare high quality Ministerial and Departmental briefings, correspondence and reports.
