Where you'll be working
Join our General Medical and Rehabilitation Unit located in the beautiful NSW Highlands. Our 32-bed acute mixed medical unit is supported by a dynamic team of young, bright, and caring nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
The unit provides care for a diverse patient cohort, including:

  • Palliative Care

  • Rehabilitation

  • Acute Stroke

  • Aged Care and Cognitive Impairment

  • Cardiac Telemetry

  • General Medical patients

Our Rehabilitation Program supports up to six patients at any one time, offering a focused and supportive environment. The Nurse Unit Manager of the General Medical Unit will be the operational lead for this role, with professional leadership provided by the Physiotherapy Department.

What you'll be doing
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and rehabilitation goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with rehabilitation programs under the direction of Allied Health Professionals

  • Effectively managing time and organisational demands when working across multiple tasks, units, or sites

  • Supporting patients with varying levels of mood, motivation, and behaviour using effective engagement strategies

  • Contributing to a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment

  • Maintaining clear, timely, and professional communication with the multidisciplinary team and supervising Allied Health Professionals

You will receive daily support from the Rehabilitation Team to ensure safe practice and professional development.

Additional Information

  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
