The Role
 

This position is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and addresses the health needs of young people released from custody to transition to the community. It focuses on culturally safe, trauma-informed care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth with mental health and/or substance use needs. 
  
This is a position identified for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people on the basis of a genuine occupational qualification under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants must demonstrate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status in addition to addressing the selection criteria.  

 
Essential Requirements:

 

·        For allied health staff:    

o   Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in occupational therapy and hold general registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra),
o   Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in social work and hold or be eligible for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or
o   Minimum of a four-year accredited psychology degree and hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Ahpra, or
o   Djirriwang Program, Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health). 

 
· For Nursing staff: 

o   Registered Nurse with current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with post registration qualifications relevant to  the position,
·        Minimum of at least 3 years' full time equivalent experience in the management of clients with mental health conditions, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.

·  Valid unrestricted drivers' license for use in NSW/Australia. 
·  Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check
