We are Just the Place to grow your career and be part of a valued team delivering care where it’s needed most.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Early Intervention Clinician to join our Adolescent Forensic Mental Health – Early Intervention Team, supporting two evidence-informed, state-wide initiatives: School-Link and Teen Got It!
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of mental health, education, families and justice, delivering early intervention programs that support vulnerable young people and reduce the likelihood of ongoing mental health challenges and justice system involvement.
The Role
The Senior Early Intervention Clinician provides specialist clinical services to children and adolescents who are in contact with, or at risk of contact with, the criminal justice system. Working within a multidisciplinary and state-wide collaborative framework, the role delivers early identification, assessment, intervention and consultation across school, community and telehealth settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering evidence-based early intervention programs including School-Link and Teen Got It!
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments of young people and their families or carers
- Providing individual and group interventions via face-to-face and telehealth modalities
- Offering clinical consultation to key stakeholders including schools, CAMHS, Youth Justice and internal Justice Health teams
- Exercising independent professional judgement in complex clinical scenarios
- Providing clinical supervision to junior clinicians and students
- Contributing to service development, evaluation, research and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintaining outcome measures and reporting to support ongoing service evaluation
This is a senior clinical role requiring strong leadership capability, advanced clinical expertise, and the ability to work autonomously within a brief, early-intervention model of care.
