About the Role:
We’re looking for a capable and compassionate Administration Officer to join our Diversion Services team within Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS). Based at Newcastle Community Health, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day functioning of our multidisciplinary unit — ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently for some of our most vulnerable clients.
You’ll manage correspondence, book appointments, and support the service with shifting priorities and diverse administrative tasks. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, knows how to juggle deadlines, and brings empathy and professionalism to everything they do.
In this role, you’ll:
- Coordinate and manage administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and service support
- Adapt to changing priorities and competing demands in a high-impact service area

You’re someone who brings both heart and hustle to the job.
You’ve got solid admin experience, love being the organised one in the room, and know how to problem-solve under pressure.
You’re sensitive to the needs of the people we serve, and you bring a calm, professional presence to your team.
You must have:
- Relevant administrative qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Strong organisational and planning skills with an ability to prioritise competing demands
- Demonstrated capability using a wide range of computer systems and electronic tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — you’re approachable and unflappable
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

- A central Newcastle location within walking distance of city amenities
- Supportive leadership and ongoing professional development
- A strong team culture with genuine collaboration and mutual respect
- Salary packaging and access to training tailored to your role and growth
