Lead a dedicated administration team supporting exceptional cancer care while making a meaningful difference to patients and their families.

 

The North West Cancer Centre at Tamworth Hospital is a purpose-built, integrated cancer centre providing radiation oncology, medical oncology and haematology services to communities across the northern half of Hunter New England Local Health District. Since opening in 2013, the Centre has delivered high-quality, patient-centred care through a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to supporting patients throughout their cancer journey.

As the Administration Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring our outpatient clinics and infusion lounge operate efficiently, leading a skilled administration team that supports clinicians in delivering outstanding care.

 

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding leadership opportunity where no two days are the same. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the administration team while fostering a positive, patient-focused culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of approximately 10 FTE Administration Officers.
  • Coordinating staff rosters, allocating workloads and managing daily workflow.
  • Providing guidance and operational support to the administration team on outpatient clinic processes.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical managers and multidisciplinary teams across the Centre.
  • Overseeing billing procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and processes.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of customer service and administrative excellence.
  • Supporting a professional, caring and efficient patient experience aligned with NSW Health's Excellence Framework.

What you'll be doing

Provide high-quality, efficient, and effective secretarial and administrative support to the managers and staff within the Communicable Diseases, Environmental Health teams and other Health Protection teams as directed.
