Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and families.
New Street Northern is a specialist, community-based service supporting young people aged 10–17 who have engaged in problematic and harmful sexual behaviours, and their families.
We are seeking a passionate and committed Aboriginal Senior Health Education Officer to join our multidisciplinary clinical team based in Ballina.
This is a unique and rewarding role that combines:
* Therapeutic support and counselling engagement with young people and families
* Community engagement and cultural connection with Aboriginal communities
* Cultural consultation and leadership within a specialist clinical service
You will play a key role in creating culturally safe pathways into care, supporting healing, and contributing to better outcomes for Aboriginal children, families, and communities.

Study While You Work – No Degree Required
This role offers a supported qualification pathway for non-graduate applicants.
If you do not currently hold a tertiary qualification, you will have the opportunity to complete the Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) through the Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV)
This pathway provides a structured, supported route to becoming a qualified counsellor, while gaining hands-on experience in a specialist clinical service.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (this is an identified role)
* Has experience or interest in working with young people and families
* Is passionate about community engagement and culturally safe practice
* Brings strong communication skills and the ability to work in a small, supportive team
* Is willing to undertake training, accreditation, and the ECAV qualification pathway (if required)
