About the Role
Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The Aboriginal Project Officer will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating all projects aligned to the SLHD Aboriginal Health Strategic Plans 2026-2031. This position will provide guidance and leadership to a multidisciplinary workforce through undertaking projects which will identify the gaps in Aboriginal engagement in quality improvement strategies. The position will report directly to the Executive Director of SLHD Aboriginal Health Service.

Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Service Management, Aboriginal Health (or in related field) and/or extensive experience in working in the field of Aboriginal cultural safety and/or improving access to services (or equivalent).
- Highly developed project management skills and demonstrated ability to engage services in strategic planning and/or review processes.
- High level knowledge of the issues impacting Aboriginal peoples in accessing programs or services where there may be sensitivity around the health issues such as chronic illness.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
