About the role
Help shape culturally safe care and improve Aboriginal patient, family and carer experiences across Western NSW.
A district-wide role for a nurse educator who identifies as Aboriginal, who can combine cultural knowledge, education expertise, stakeholder engagement and leadership to collaboratively develop, implement and evaluate education, supporting best practice and improving Aboriginal patient, family and carer experiences and outcomes.
About the role
You will consult with managers, educators, clinicians and stakeholders to plan, deliver and evaluate education across staff levels and service contexts in line with local plans and state and national programs and standards.
As a clinical expert, you will maintain currency of knowledge and expertise, contribute to research and quality improvement projects, and ensure maintenance of data and evidence.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in developing, delivering and evaluating education, especially as related to healthcare and health literacy. You will bring high-level communication, facilitation, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, along with the ability to motivate and engage others in practice development.
You will bring developed consultation and negotiation skills across diverse stakeholders, the ability to balance competing priorities, and a commitment to fostering innovation and continuous improvement in person-centred practice and partnerships with patients, families and carers.

This is a District wide role working in collaboration with other Directorates to improve capability, strengthen processes and build a stronger safety culture across clinical teams. In this position, your work will directly support person-centred care, Aboriginal patient service improvement and the development of more culturally safe, effective healthcare experiences.
