Your Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional that:
- This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence, ability and willingness to drive / travel to all sites and services within the catchment area of the Justice Health NSW to support the Team in their capacity to provide equitable access to training opportunities for all staff. This may include overnight stays.
The Role
The Aboriginal Cultural Capability Team Leader provides strategic and operational leadership to cultivate an organisation wide culture that is respectful, inclusive, and responsive to Aboriginal people. This role plays a critical part in driving sustainable cultural change by building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and influencing organisational practices to embed cultural safety at every level.
This position requires, strong local community connections, and the ability to provide astute, respectful guidance to non-Aboriginal stakeholders. Through its leadership, the Aboriginal Cultural Capability Team Leader enables culturally safe and inclusive practices to be embedded across the organisation, fostering an environment where Aboriginal staff and communities feel respected, valued, and supported.
The Location
The Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Administration Centre (JHAC) is located on the Long Bay Correctional Complex site. The JHAC offers free limited parking out the front of the building or alternative parking within the complex. The Complex also has a gym and subsidised café.
Salary and Benefits
