What you'll be doing
The In reach / Outreach / Brief Intervention (IOBI) multidisciplinary team will provide brief intervention for clients accessing AOD services and will also provide in reach and outreach services. The In-Reach component will bring the team's community expertise into the hospital care setting. The outreach component will work with individuals with ongoing AOD issues who have had experiences that have impacted them to engage with services.

Provide an effective and efficient Social Work/Counselling/Psychologist service that addresses the psychosocial aspects of care for patients receiving substance use treatment including proving support, education and resources as required. To actively participate and contribute to the continued development of the clinical role in the AOD service utilising the principles of Trauma Informed Care.

This is a temporary opportunity with the possibility of ongoing employment.   

About You
You are a compassionate and highly skilled clinician with qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline, bringing extensive experience supporting individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug issues. Guided by the principles of trauma-informed care, you are committed to providing holistic, person-centred interventions that support recovery, resilience, and improved health outcomes for people experiencing substance use disorders.

Your clinical expertise includes conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, developing tailored treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based counselling to clients with complex and often multifaceted needs. You are adept at identifying underlying factors impacting health and wellbeing and working collaboratively with clients and their support networks to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

You thrive in complex healthcare environments and are skilled at coordinating care across services, facilitating interagency meetings, and bringing together key stakeholders to develop integrated care plans for clients with significant support needs. Your ability to build strong working relationships with healthcare providers, community agencies, and multidisciplinary teams ensures seamless and coordinated service delivery.

As a proactive and reflective practitioner, you are committed to continuous service improvement and actively contribute to quality improvement activities, research projects, and service development initiatives. With exceptional written, verbal, and computer skills, you are able to manage demanding caseloads while maintaining accurate documentation and high professional standards. Holding a current NSW Driver Licence and a willingness to travel, you are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality care to individuals and communities across diverse settings.
