Join the Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service at Cumberland Hospital, a dynamic and innovative service that enables patients to receive high-quality treatment outside the traditional hospital environment. As part of a collaborative pharmacy and multidisciplinary healthcare team, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings throughout Western Sydney.

What you'll be doing 
As a Pharmacy Technician within the Hospital in the Home service, you will provide high-quality dispensing and pharmaceutical support services that ensure patients receive safe, timely and accurate medication management throughout their care journey.

You will contribute to the delivery of patient-centred services while maintaining compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.

·         Perform medication dispensing and distribution activities accurately and efficiently

·         Support medication management services in accordance with NSW Health and WSLHD policies

·         Ensure safe handling, storage and supply of pharmaceuticals across multiple care settings

·         Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver responsive and patient-focused services

·         Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance programs and ongoing professional development

Essential Criteria:

·         Qualification: Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 – Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support. Technician Grade 2 - Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support. 


Selection Criteria: 

1.     Demonstrated good communication skills

2.     Demonstrated satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia (or equivalent) and relevant pharmacy qualification

3.     Demonstrated ability to prioritise large workload and have good time management skills

4.     Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

5.     Demonstrated experience as a pharmacy technician within a hospital environment

6.     Current Class 1A Driver Licence.
